Message	I have them tapped into my Hi-Flow cats, and obviously dont get a light. But yes, you can also tie them up... as long as they are plugged in you are OK. You can also get an O2 sim, and accomplish the same thing. On later model year cars you can not just tie them up, they MUST be in pipes and you MUST have cats. They didn't have the parameters refined enough in '96 for them to actually do any good, but on my wife's 02 WRX, it is very sensitive.
